LAST TAPE HEAD TREATMENT

A TREATMENT FOR HEADS & GUIDES OF MAGNETIC RECORDERS

PRODUCT PROFILE

LAST TAPE HEAD TREATMENT is a liquid which has been engineered to improve the interface between the heads and magnetic media. It may also be applied to a recorder’s tape guides where it aids the smooth movement of the magnetic media. LAST TAPE HEAD TREATMENT is applied to the non-drive surfaces of a recorder’s tape path. It clings to the surface with incredible tenacity and will last the entire length of a tape. It reduces tape stiction and the attendant scrape flutter. The passage of tape is noticeable smoother with a measurable reduction in I.M. distortion.

Because the heads and guides present a more slippery surface to the moving tape, the e\tendency for oxides and dust to build up on the leading surface is greatly reduced. Without buildup, the frequency response is maintained and the incidence of “dropouts” greatly reduced.

Finally, the lifetime of the expensive heads and critical dimensions of the guides is substantially increased.

LAST TAPE HEAD TREATMENT is applied once before a tape passes through the mechanism. The treatment is applied with the supplied brush and applicator swabs. One treatment lasts for the duration of a tape and is consumed in the process of  improving the interface between the moving tape and the heads and guides. One bottle of LAST TAPE HEAD TREATMENT contains sufficient chemistry for hundreds of applications.
