I just purchased LAST record preservative, and I’m eager to try it out. I have two questions about its use. How long after the record preservative is applied must one wait before playing the record? -B.S.
The treated record is ready for play by the time the closure is replaced on the bottle. There is a diffusion process that occurs over a relatively short period of time, in which the preservative treatment is absorbed into the outermost molecular layers of the record’s surface. What that means in terms of listing, is that the sonic benefits will improve slightly over a day or two.
